Your calculations

Every calculator on this site runs entirely in your browser. The numbers you type are processed on your own device by JavaScript that was downloaded with the page. They are not transmitted to this site or to any third party, and there is no server-side component that could receive them. Analytics records which calculator was used, never the numbers entered.

Shared links are the one exception. A link made with the Share button carries its numbers in the web address, and like any web address it is seen by the host that serves the page. Analytics records the page without that part of the address.

What is stored on your device

Two things may be saved in your browser's localStorage, which is storage local to your device that this site can read back on your next visit:

• Recent calculations — up to twelve, so they are still there if you return. The “Clear” button next to the list removes them immediately.
• Your currency symbol preference on the discount calculator.

This data stays on your device. It is never uploaded, and clearing your browser's site data removes it. If storage is unavailable — in a private window, for example — the calculators work exactly as normal without it.

Cookies

The calculators do not need cookies. The cookies this site does use come from Google:

• Google Analytics sets the _ga and _ga_* cookies to tell a new visit from a returning one. By default they last two years.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The calculators work exactly the same without them.

Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics to understand how it is used. It records the pages you visit, the site that referred you, your device and browser type, your approximate location, and how you use the calculators — for example switching mode, copying a result or sharing it. Your location is derived from your IP address, which Google Analytics does not store. The numbers you enter are never recorded.

Google handles this data as described in how Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can opt out of Google Analytics on every website with Google's opt-out browser add-on.

Cloudflare, which hosts the site, also provides visit counts through Cloudflare Web Analytics. It uses no cookies or other stored identifiers.

Server logs

Like virtually all websites, the hosting provider that serves these pages keeps standard access logs, which typically include IP addresses, timestamps, requested URLs and browser user-agent strings. These are generated by the hosting infrastructure for security and reliability purposes, and are not used to build any profile of you.

Third-party services

Fonts are self-hosted and served from this domain, so loading a page makes no request to Google Fonts. The only third-party services the site uses are the ones named on this page: Google Analytics and Cloudflare.

Children

This site is a general-purpose calculator, not a service directed at children, and it does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your rights

The site has no accounts, so it holds no profile of you to access, correct or delete. Analytics data is held by Google, which explains how to view and control it in its privacy policy. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access or delete personal data, or to object to its use; email us and we will help with any request we can act on.

Data stored locally in your browser is under your control and can be cleared at any time through the “Clear” button or your browser settings.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the “last updated” date above will change with it. Material changes — such as adding a new analytics or advertising service — will be described here before they take effect.
